Christian is right. I was there during our 2006 reunion together with Mimi,
my son and a couple of veteran Caernowitzers. It was quite an experience;
they were very friendly and we got a VIP. I personally had the opportunity
to see the classroom of the Jewish Community school that I attended during
the last couple of weeks of the ghetto. Prof. Fred Schneider was my
classmate. It was very impressing. I also visited the former primary Safah
Ivriyah school, which became a Sunday school for the Adventists' children.

Subject: Re: [Cz-L] Groisse Shil
Dear Hardy,
the Adventists are in the former Toynbee Hall, not in the Groisse Shil. They
renewed the building and it's in very good condition. They resisted against
somebody who wanted to take over the building trough connections and money
to make it a casino. The director told me, they are very well aware of the
history of the building and wanted it to be used for a spiritual purpose
instead of beeing a casino.
