Why do you not go to reference books on the subject , one would be SHATTERED
BY Dr Felicia (Stiegman0 Carmelly) and not waste time with in fighting .
This only one of many Historical books that my husband refers to when he
feels his memory may be fading . I have also sent 6 of your emails to my
cousin who id born and educated in CZ after the war for more detailed
information .
Mimi you do not know everything and you cannot impose your so called
mummeries on other members of the group that went through the war years both
in CZ and concentration camp each person will be in a state of trauma and
will react to the situation in a different way . Charles is still having
problems with the emotional adjustment all these years after the war.
I would like to hear more from people that were in the concentration camp ,
this could be a healing process for some.

Mimi..your military history lessons didn,t take! Yes,the Russians occupied
Czernowitz, but then they were thrown out again, and the Emperor Karl came for
a visit. The picture is "Honved" cavalry...ie Hungarian Hussars. And another
general point..because of the Western education most of us had,the belief is
that the biggest battles of WW1 were in France, esp. The Battle of the Somme.
In reality, the fighting around the Carpathians was far bloodier and involved
far more troops, with huge losses..including among the 41st and 15th
Infantry..both with large nos of Jewish soldiers. Cornel

Very picturesque! But I think that the Russians occupied Czernowitz a number
of times and the "Kaiserliche Husaren" did not defend "das Kaiserreich"
successfully.
