 Thanks to Christian, I now found the exact location of the "Groisse Sheel".
If you look at the 1941 "Stadtplan von Czernowitz", which is accessible on
Ehpes, look at quadrangle d E and you will see two buildings indicated by
black rectangles and the numbers 43 and 77. Number 43 is the "Groisse Sheel
And number 77 is the Jewish hospital.
The street on which the synagogue is located was during the Austrian period
called Synagogengasse, what else? During the Romanian period, Strada Wilson,
and is now called ul. Barbiusa. It is on the north side of the street and
according to the Yandex map it is #31.

On the Yandex picture it is quite a large building and from the outside
looks in good shape.
