Dear Harry,
I know the school only by its location on the east side
of the Strada Stefan cel Mare between str. Rasboieni and
str. Marasasti. I attended this school for one month in
May 1944 and a full school year 1944-1945.
I knew it only as the Yiddish school, opened about 6 weeks
after the Russians entered Czernowitz.
As far as snobbishness is concerned: I do NOT mean
the Czernowitz-List members, I meant Czernowitzers in general,
before the war and by those who survived, also after the war.
There was the snobbishness of Czernowitzers among themselves
and also the Czernowitzers towards people from other places.
What I was told about Chernivtsi, referred to the whole population.
