To Berti's question:
How we Jewish children in Cz. got to be frightened by the expression
"Bozse Boh"?
I would like to answer as follows:
Many Jewish families in Czernowitz employed maids, nannies and
washerwomen who were of assorted nationalities.
For instance in my case, my grandparents employed a Ruthenian maid,
a Polish washerwoman, a Jewish cook, a man of unknown origin to take
care
of the horses and the cow, and I had a German nanny, Freulein Mitzi.
I was completely in love with the Ukrainian maid Annetza, she was young,
beautiful and very cheerful. I am sure she never tried to frighten me
with the Bozse Boh, but other Jewish children, quite possibly learned
the expression from Ukrainian or Ruthenian employees of their parents.
