I agree with Cornel. "Bozhe Moy" was used very often and just
in the sense Cornel mentioned.
During the war, when butter and cheese were in short supply
and difficult to obtain by Jews, because we were not allowed
to be outside our homes before ten in the morning,
a Subbotnik peasant woman, would bring us butter and cheese
to the house, even though it was against the law to do so.
Once when she came, she burst into tears and said:
Bozhe Moy, Bozhe Moy what do they want of you, poor Jews.
