HI All! The opening photo of the Jews is of soldiers in the Austrian 41st Infanterie Regiment, part of a bunch of pics of the Regiment's different nationalities in the clothes of their communities. The bearded guy is a "Feldrabbiner"..ie Military Rabbi.The title of the book is "Geschichte des K&K Infanterie-regiments nr.41,by Jaromir Formanek and Karl Dvorak,published in Czernowitz in 1887.

[Yeah... but who are/is chibur-chernivtsi, the folks that created this blog?
