[Cz-L] Fokshaner

We met them a few times in a hotel in Austria, in the summer. She was
extremely well dressed, with splendid jewellery,an attractive woman.
What did we talk about - Czernowitz of course. They were nice and
friendly, and it was obvious that they belonged to the higher society.
One day, their son arrived from London, to visit his parents, in a
Rolls-Royce. Keeping up the tradition! Maybe Cornel knew the family.
The Fokshaners were much older than us, and in later years we did not
see them any more.

And another family which had a car in the early years in Czernowitz. The
WIZO Berlin invited Raja Jaglom years ago, when she was president of the
World Wizo. We went to the meeting, which took place in an elegant
hotel, and my mother went up to her to talk to her about Czernowitz. She
was rather distant and uppitiy (not to say something else). She said she
had left the city when she was 17 years old and had no many
recollections of it. Her family was known in Czernowitz to have one of
the first cars. She married early, a well-to-do man, and left the city
for bigger ones. Can Hedwig confirm?
