Jerome...There was a recent article in a London paper that the "i before e except.." rule has been dropped because there were more exceptions to the rule than words that followed the rule! Cornel

In the German Romanian journal "Allgemeine Deutsche Zeitung fuer
Rumaenien" (January 31, 2013) I found a paper "Jiddisch aus dem
Jenseits", a recension of a book about Josef Burg and Czernowitz. I
send you the scanned paper; if you think, it could be interesting for
the German speaking (or reading) members of our Czernowitz list.
