Dear Christian,
What a great post! There was much movement between Galicia and Bukovina.
In fact, I have a great great grandmother, Chaje Sure Weissman, who was
born to Schloime and Zipre Weissman in Brody in 1830. This information
comes from her marriage registration (done years after her religious
marriage) dated 20 Dec. 1874 - from Radautz! Her husband Efraim Schachter
was from another Galician town, Okupy, known as the birthplace of the
B'aal Shem Tov. I believe that both are buried somewhere in the Radauti
Cemetery. Yes, the connection between Galicia and Bukovina was strong.
It's fascinating to see your pictures and read about your impressions.
Terrible, though, to see how the history exhibit nullifies the existence
of Jews in Brody. Well done!
JewishGen also has an excellent KehilaLinks site for Brody:

Warmest wishes,
Bruce
