[Cz-L] tourist guide

I am not sure of the veracity of one of the statements in the guide found by
Hardy. It says that Czernowitz was the seat of a short-lived Ukrainian
Government after the fall of the Empire. I do know that a large unit of
mounted(mainly) Ukrainians tried to take over the town. They were
unsuccessful due to the actions of 2 Jewish officers of the 41st Infanterie
Regt. who rallied the returning soldiers and patrolled the streets....very
effectively,and the would-be occupiers were persuaded(!!!) to leave. If
anybody has more details I stand to be educated! Cornel
