Czernowitzers:

A few days ago, I returned from Panama City, where I delivered four
speeches in three days.
( see http://ehpes.com/blog1/2013/04/04/ruth-gold-speech-in-panama-city/ )

On the evening of Yom Hashoah in Temple Beith El of Panama City, I
started my testimony with the following poem:

A ROMANIAN POEM

"In aprigul Holocaust
de deportati, raniti, ostateci, schinguiti
evocand gropile de
...prunci striviti deolalta cu
parinti, surori:
puiandri stinsi nainte de-a afla
ca viata poarta ceruri si candore;
estropiati, cei puscati in ceafa
sau casa[iti cu sapa,-
caltinati din soproane,-
osemintele loe se zbat
si suna arare
din tibii, glezne si picioare
silabisind, clar si respicat:
RAZBUNARE
pentru miile si miile de abatoare."

Camil Baltazar, a Romanian Poet

"In the cruel Holocaust
of deportees, wounded, hostages, tortured
evoking graves full of infants
crushed together with parents and sisters:
pullets extinguished before discovering
that life carries skies and purity;
maimed, those shot in the neck or stabbed with a hoe
calcinated in the sheds."
"Their bones struggle
and rarely sound
from shinbones to ankles and feet
sillabizing clear and bluntly
VENGEANCE
for the thousands and thousand
of carnages."
