Klezmer music is catching on everywhere, sometimes
more Romanian than Jewish and the mode of dancing
completely different from the way our grandparents or
the Romanian or Ukrainians villagers danced it.

The Klezmer band "Brave old world" is very successful
in Germany. The father of the head of the band was
from Edineti, which we called Yedinetz and therefore
he sings in good Bukovinian Yiddish.

There probably will be a Klezmer band at the Meridian Poetry
Festival, in Czernowitz this fall and a few evenings ago,
my husband and I danced a hora to a live Klezmer band
in a pub in Bloomington IN.

Yes, I know we should have danced "Achzig er und siebezig sie,
but the klezmorim did not know the melody.

Anyhow, you should have seen the "hullien"!
