I must have missed the story when it first appeared on Ehpes, now enjoyed
very much to read it - not especially the history recorded, but because of
the personal touch.
The top is of course the written letter in German which you translated
tamely into cultured English. I already mentioned the difficulty of
translating Celan into another language - now I have a more formidable
problem with the Czernowitzerisch:
How to render your cousin's "Ahi Der Schlag soll es treffen"? Mainly the
"ahi" makes me Kopfdarenisch.
Hardy may be you can help, I am lossed.
