Harry (and of course, Jerome)...
Thank you so much for the reminder and for sharing your most interesting article

with all of us. I remember, that I read your article a few years ago, but subsequently I didn't make the connection between Paul Celan's letter to your second cousin Erich Einhorn and John Felstiner's citation "If you look at the Preface of my Celan anthology (Norton), you'll see he wrote to a Czernowitz exile friend in Russia on July 1st, '44: "I've come to Kiev for two days..." It's fascinating, that it's again exactly this letter, which supports my theory on "The Genesis of Paul Celan's 'Todesfuge'":

It's a very good opportunity to draw your attention to the Paul Celan - Erich Einhorn Correspondence, published (in German) by Erich's daughter Marina Dimitrieva-Einhorn:
Thank you so much for your engagement!
P.S. for Berti and Hardy: Thank you for your linguistic assistance and I have frankly to confess "Schlag soll ihn/sie/es treffen!" was one of the most used exclamations of my late father Julius Hauster too.
