Inaccuracies in reporting at that time (1941)
was not unusual. The rumour machine
churned out many false reports.
Lets face it the Jews did not have many friends in those days.
Deportations to Russia took place on a grand scale
even during the first weeks of fighting
that might have been mistaken for evacuation
