I have read ALL JTA -News from the 8th of July 1941 and my guess is that the
source was the Reichswehr press releases.

Of course it sounds like Bobe-Maysses. Disinformation.

The article brought to our attention by Florence is excerpted from the
Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) News Bulletin dated July 8, 1941

and it is of course NOT A FACTUAL REPORT, but an interesting contemporary
document. At the peak of WW2 - the Eastern Front, as the largest military
operation in history, started just two weeks earlier, on June 22, 1941 -
it's hardly surprising that not each and any agency report was accurate, but
was in many cases the result of targeted disinformation. However, as a
contemporary document, the article cannot be misused as "anti semites
ammunition".
