I do remember distinctly the forced deportation
& to my mind I remember the Nussbaum family
her son, daughter in law & children were in hiding
the old Mrs Nussbaum could hardly walk she would have
 have been in her 70 ,never the less
she was placed on a chair on an open truck to be taken to the station.
Naturally when the son heard about it he went to the station & then with
the transport to Siberia. The war has already started.
There were panic evacuation of many who tried to get away.

As far as I know there was NO forced evacuation but I do remember my
cousin's friend Ilse Goldman (I think) fervent communist, deciding to
follow the Russians before the German occupation. I know she died with
others who followed them voluntarily into the land of their dreams. The
Russians, was the rumor, shot them on the way. This article might be about
their plight.
