Whenever there is a totalitarian takeover, be it Nazi or Communist or whatever, disgruntled losers feeling
empowered, creep out of the woodwork to have their day so to speak, seeking vengeance in one way or another. My father had to fire a young man who couldn't handle his job and the young man turned out to be a Communist. He shouted, "Comes the revolution, we'll get you."
As it happened we left Cz in April of '39 and he came to our home with a couple of armed, uniformed men as soon as the Russians arrived in the summer of 1940 looking for my dad. My aunt Hilda was still there and wrote to us about it. Had we remained we would probably have ended up in Siberia which might have been not much better than Auschwitz.
