Thank you Iosif for the information about the location of the Makkabi
Sportplatz.
Looking at the map, I noticed something I had never noticed before.
Because I had lived in Czernowitz on the Schmidtgasse/Strada
Cronicarul Neculcea,
I was familiar with the hospital on the Strada Transilvaniei,
opposite the Folksgarten.
This hospital is still in use currently. Looking at the map for the
Makkabi Sportplatz,
I for the first time paid attention to the much larger hospital in
quadrant (E j),
to the west of the Sportplatz. Was this the hospital for the mentally
ill?
The one we called "Irrenanstalt"?
