Since more people were murdered in the German extermination camps
than in Transnistria, the murder of Jews in the camps set up by the
Romanians,
received less publicity everywhere, than the German camps.
This is certainly true at Yad Vashem.
The curator of documents at the US Holocaust museum is Radu Ioanid,
the author of "The Holocaust in Romania". He is certainly very well
informed
and I doubt that he intentionally would minimize the attention to the
fate
of Jews in Transnistria.
Another possible explanation, is that while the Germans kept meticulous
records about their doings, the records concerning the deportations,
murder and death due to starvation and disease in Transnistria,
are scanty, contradictory and less reliable.
