What makes the Jewish cemetery in Czernowitz attractive to German speakers
are the German poetry displayed on the tombstones.
Would you expect so many "Ruhe sanft " inscriptions
in a cemetery deep in the wilderness of the trans - Carpathian countryside ?
If you go to "Facebook Czernowitz cemetery" there is a collection of
German
tombstones inscription collected by the volunteers.
They call it "Mazeves of the day ".
