"Nett" is nice or friendly in German and there is no reason that the diminutive could not be used as a term of endearment or a nickname. Cornel

it is not the Yiddish term for "endearment" that is being looked for but a "tzertlich word" for a close friend whose name was Renée. I read it as "Netschere" or "Netschele"?
