Re: [Cz-L] Ringplatz 1910

Not only are the people in this photograph no longer alive,
but none of us was alive when this photograph was taken.
I remember the Ringplatz the way it was in the 1940ies.
I do not think that I ever saw so many people on it,
but by that time, we of course had radios. We even had short-wave radios
on which the adults listened very secretly to the BBC.
But Saturday and Sunday afternoons were dedicated to strolling.
Everyone dressed in their best finery; villagers in their national
costumes,
ladies wearing hats and gloves and men lifting their hats
whenever they met someone they knew.
