Looking at your postcard, Greetings from Wiznitz, I decided to research Viznitz and the lumber industry. It led me to a wonderful series of memoirs about the lumber industry of the time. The author's father traveled far and wide, including in and through Czernowitz, Bukovina and Kolomeya.
If you are interested, here is the link. There might be familiar names in the stories since he mentions many, many names. It's a fascinating story of the times. It also speaks of the involvement of various noblemen in the business and the region. Maybe one of them was a German named Rayische.
