Friedrich Schiller never visited Czernowitz,
but he was revered by all who had read his poetry.
(Obligatory in Czernowitz schools during the Austro Hungarian Empire.)
Friedrich Schiller would not have made fun of Hutzuls.
In one of his poems he wrote:
Warum verfolgst du meine Herde?
Raum genug fur alle hat diese Erde.

Why do you pursue my herd?
Enough room for all has this earth.
