Ad of shipping agency of Trieste on Herrengasse.
Which reminds me that our Empire was also a maritime nation.
With outlets at Trieste and Fiume , two excellent deep water ports.
At the Austrian Riviera Franz Josef had the Habsburg Villa .
In Abazzia - Opatia of today.
The Austrian Imperial navy was anchored there.
All this came to an end end when the Croat composer Drahovic
composed famous opera " The Krk in Trst ".
The La Scala performers refused to sing the premiera saying
they must have vowels: "La Basilica de Trieste " we can do !
Then came World War 1914 .
