Hi Hardy, Edgar, Berti, David.

First of all, I wish to thank for their kind words of condolence to many of
the list members, some known friends, some unknown:
Bruce, Jerome, Edgar, Berti, Hardy, Mimi, Peter Elbau, Marianne Hirsch and
Leo Spitzer, Felix Garfunkel, Nomy and Shlomy Weber, Silvia G/sell, Marion
Tauschnitz, These I remember, but there are many more. to them my thanks.

Hi Edgar, Hardy, Berti, David,
Today I retuned to my PC.
The last weeks were the hardest of my whole long life, but working is my
only medicine not to get mad.
I saw the wonderful picture od the Bombonerie and memories came back.
I am sorry, Edgar, it was in Herrengass 10,A,, next to the entrance where I
lived 12 years . From the age of 5 my mother allowed me to go by myself,to
uncle Gruen, for Rops/Drops, some sour/sweet bonbon or Karamel, sweet
bonbons quadrat form. Near the entrance to the shop was a sack with
"Boxerln"some long brown pods, and inside, like green peas, some very tasty
Remember somebody_

Well done, outstanding memory! You are completely right, in 1936 there were
three Grün's in the same (candy store) branch. Two of them, i. e.

David Grün, Iancu Flondor [Herrengasse] 9
Osias Grün, Regele Ferdinand [Enzenberg-Hauptstraße] 4

you are tracing in the 1936 Trade Directory:

The third one, whom you perfectly remember, was

Siegmund Grün, Ciprian Porumbescu [Musikvereinsgasse] 4

and - take this as a preannouncement - you are going to rediscover him in
the 1936 Telephone Directory, which we are going to publish very soon!

Czernowitz sweet stuff!
