Thank you Edgar for this telephone directory.
I do know definitely that before the Russians came in in 1940,
we had two telephones with different numbers, one at the store
on the Ringplatz, the other at the store in the Schmiedgasse,
yet could find no listing for Steinmetz at all. Nor for other
family names, of which I am fairly sure that they owned telephones.
Do you think that these omissions are due to Romanian negligence
or is it possible that people who had telephones in 1939 - 40,
did not have them in 1936?
