I was touched, Shula, over the story of your seven year old's
awakening interest in his roots. I once wrote a lyric for a character
in a film who had a similar dawn of interest in his genealogy - WHERE
DO I COME FROM? I'll copy it here. Please give it to your son. He
might relate to it.

What they were like who came before me?

Will I be proud to learn of my past?

Or will I regret that I probed and asked?

Here am I now, but soon I’ll be gone

What is the meaning?

Why carry on?

Where do I come from?

 I’ve got to know

I’ve got to dig it up and find my roots
