Your email to Dr. Haeupl should be easily readable by him (or his staff).
It's only the copy that you sent to the list address that had to be
modified, since it was sent in both plain text and html format. The list
works best in Plain Text "only", and that's why there was a note at the
top of your message reminding you about our plain text policy.

By the way, Jerome and I share moderator duties and Jerome is the one to
thank for publishing your message to the list. You're right that Google
translate isn't perfect (and sometimes is far from perfect) but I'm sure
Jerome was only seeking to put your message into some form of English
for the vast majority of our subscribers.
