Dear Dale,

Your mention of cow dung as a floor covering is very believable to me.
I experienced it myself when I observed the mixture of cow dung, some mud or clay and some straw, smeared over the floor and let dry and hardened. That was in Moghilev, when I was in Transnistria in concentration camp. Many Ukrainian houses used that.
