As I know, Suceava airport is still under constructions, turning it into international airport.
The closest active airport is in Iasi, about 1.5Hr drive from Suceava.

Christian :
Am not an expert on South Bukovina or Suceava county as it's called today.
Aber trotzdem:
Coming in - fly in Bucharest -Suceava.
You know the Ivano Frankovsk road more than enough..
  Rent a Dacia in Suceava.
Stay in one place : Suceava or to the West of it.
   Drop all not-Bukovina places.
You wont find traces of vanished cemeteries.
       See Putna Monastery.
See painted Monasteries if you like paintings.
Carlibaba has an exotic Turkish name
     and good skiing slopes.
      In winter.
See Popovici village of birth .
        Who made this story possible.
You may find German- speaking Jews.
You can also go for a day visit to CZ
If you feel a longing and car insurance allows it.

If you come in by Bucharest - stay a day.

Hardy

Dear all,

As I already posted recently I will be back on the road with my friends Petra and Achim in the first half of April 2015. With both of them I was already traveling two years ago in Galicia and Northern Bukovina in Ukraine
- and I was very glad many of you joined our experiences and adventures.
This time Southern Bukovina, by now the Romanian part of the former Austro-Hungarian crown land, is waiting for us. With the help of list members I compiled a list of places to go, but I’m sure there are more knowledgeable readers who are familiar with the hidden trasures of the region and who would give us hints where to go!

Best wishes,
Christian
