Cornel,
Jews were not counted at all .
No matter how patriotic they were and how much
they loved the Kaiser.
My father was also a soldier who fought in
Montenegro and at the Isonzo and was wounded.
Our love for the Habsburgs was one-sided.
They fell apart after a senseless war that caused
millions of casualties without achieving anything
at all .
Should we be proud for participating in this war?
"But they killed our Ferdinand!"
Hardy

Nobody was"undercover" !! It is simply that Jews were not counted as a "Nationality". C.

To this must be added that the Regiment had a large number of Jews who,not being classed as a separate nationality, were listed under the other groups.
A good photo of some of them.together with their "Feldrabbiner" (military
Rabbi) can be seen in the last volume of the Regimental History. Cornel.
(whose family was well-represented in the Regiment!).
