Thank you, Ossi, for explaining! Maybe we can meet when me and my friends return. I would be glad to know and understand more!

Betreff: Re: [Cz-L] Arrival in Romania
As a native of Czernowitz, but now living in Cluj, I feel obliged to defend the ”honor” of Cluj. The “water colored synagogue” is not the Ohel Mosche Synagogue, but a former synagogue, now hired by to a society “Casa Tranzit”, which uses it to organize different cultural events (exhibitions, performances). Another former synagogue is now the Institute for Judaism and Hebrew History of the University. The Ohel Mosche Synagogue is only a prayer room used during the cold season, while the “Moorish style” Synagogue (former neolog synagogue) is used for important events in the Community. There were of course Pesach services in the Ohel Mosche Synagogue and two collective seders in the kosher restaurant of the Community. The local community is small and most of its members are old, but there are also more then 100 Jewish students in Cluj (mostly from Israel and France). I’m sorry that the bad weather (it is now snowing) prevented Christian to get a better impression of the town.
