Dear Czernowitzers,
This may not be news to many of you, but just in case, I would like to share with you the wonderful feeling of being home again after reading the autobiography of the great Czernowitzer, Gregor von Rezzori "Mir auf der Spur" or the "Memoirs of an Antisemite” in English or so many other of his books
Rezzori’s books are on the same level and world class as "Die Welt Von Gestern" by Stefan Zweig, except for Rezzori being a superb survivor and brilliant cynic. The best of old imperial Austrian (k.u.k) Czernowitz, Romania and later Germany and the post WWWII western world including America. And contrary to Günther Grass ("Die Blechtrommel" about Danzig - another German speaking enclave with Jews), Rezzori bears no grudge against Israel and the West.
Many of his books are also available as ebooks on Kindle that is much easier to enjoy for aging eyes :-)
