I also remember my mother having fled to Vienna during First World War.
Very ovine story!
I was 10 , one year older and , -in Moghilev and Skazinetz from 1941 to 1044.
Much of the experience described is similar, but not all.

I understand that my own family left their home during World War I, but I have never known the context of their departure. I had thought that they made the choice to leave. Does anyone know more about these expulsions?
