Banila pe Siret is much larger than Banila Pidhirney, so I would assume
that its Jewish population was also larger.
Horrible massacres of Jews took place in both villages in July of 1941.
Banila Pidhirney in Romanian was called Banila pe Ceremus.
According to Radu Ioanid in his book "The Holocaust in Romania":
" in Banila pe Ceremus a mob of peasants ....
slaughtered 170 people in the cemetery"
Possibly this is why you, Baruch Eylon, were told that there are
4 cemeteries in that village.
