Here are a few family photos. The 1911 Czernowitz studio photo was my
grandfather, Isak Heilpern, grandmother, Ernestyna Lea (Korpus), my
dad, Rudolf (baby), my Uncle Alfred and Aunt Gisela. I am curious
about the photo card of my grandparents super-imposed by the falls.
Does anyone recognize it as a location near Czernowitz, or is it just a
stock studio background? The last shot of the man in uniform, was my
dad's uncle, Adolph Abraham Heilpern and his children. Can anyone tell
me more about the uniform? I was told he was a career military man.
He died in Theresienstadt in 1943. I have had no luck in trying to
find out more about his military career--- his enlistment, unit served
in, or how/when he came to be at Theresienstadt. I am sure there is
much I will never know. Any suggestions out there?
Thanks.
Leah
