I very much agree with Anny. I too was born in Romanian times...and we also
spoke Czernowitzer Deutsch and regarded ourselves as stranded Austrians!

Sorry Shelley, I disagree with you. I lived in Romania, had a Romanian
passport, spoke Romanian as I had to in school, but at home, with my
friends, everywhere we spoke Czernowitzer Deutsch, a special language which,
until today, I recognize anywhere. Until I came to Israel I didn't feel at
home anywhere, spoke the language of the countries I lived in but I never
felt Romanian. My mother was until she died Austrian, that's where she was
born. anny
