Lloid,
in most cases the deportees weren't informed about the reason for their deportation.
There are a lot of speculations about the purpose, during Stalin regime lots of
different people were deported to Siberia, partly probably to get rid of certain kind
of people from the populated areas of european SU, possibly also to get enough people to Siberia
as work force for constructions there, etc. One reason could be the idea to remove German speaking people
from western areas (in case a war with Germany was expected).
The reasons you mentioned could be - I really don't know and my parents didn't either.
