In regard to the photograph made accessible to us by Hardy;
The girls in the photograph variously wear either a gathered skirt,
or a skirt which is a rectangular piece of hand-woven cloth,
which is wound around the body and worn over a long white shift
I remember both these national costumes, but cannot remember
whether it was the Romanians or the Ukrainians who wore the hand-
woven skirt.
Can anyone remember?
Was the skirt called "Fusta"?
