A wrap-around skirt made out of one or two rectangular pieces of
woolen fabric is called "fota" in both Romanian and Ukrainian and it
is an important part of traditional costume in both groups
(

The gathered skirts are also used in both Romanian and Ukrainian
traditional costumes.
For both types of skirts the distinction between Romanian and
Ukrainian can be made by looking at the ornament and decorations.
