But they always do business with others. If you do business with
others, you have to speak their language. If you want to talk with
the upper crust, you spoke their language. At one time, German was
the language of the elite. My Galicia grandparents and the family,
therefore, spoke German. Polish was a necessity and Yiddish was the
momma tongue. It has always been that way for those who want to make
business and survive in the world. Ask any non-American who speaks
English. You prosper when you speak another language.
