How do you know that it was written in 1946 ?

The missing word in Elena's translation is indeed ARLUS -an acronym.
ARLUS stands for Romanian Association for closer Ties with the Soviet Union=
.
 (Asociația Română pentru strângerea Legăturilor c=
u Uniunea Sovietică).
It was an important institution in the heart of Bucharest , exactly across =
the American Embassy.
