Inspired by fellow member Prof. Alfred Schneider, Prof. Emmanuel Landau rec=
ently joined our group and his mail - clearly intended for the entire group=
- came in via fellow member Elena Iuga to us:
"My name is Emmanuel (Manny) Landau. I was born in Czernowitz in 1938. My f=
ather was the eye doctor Jacob Landau and my mother was Ida, the daughter o=
f Dr. Joseph Ohrenstein, the director of the Jewish Hospital. Reading Alfre=
d Kittner’s CV, I noted that his mother was a Kaprlalek. My mother had a =
good friend, Nora Kapralek, maybe a relative of Alfred Kittner. Best, Manny=

he Czernowitz society and were - among others - subject to some dozens of a=
rticles by „Der Tag“ mid-1930s. Being born in Czernowitz in 1938, I'm a=
ssuming you speak/read German fluently and so I'm going to send a press rev=
iew out of "Der Tag" as a special welcome bonus for you.
