My late father's first marriage was to Rahel Greif, member of the very weal=
thy and widespread Greif family from Czernowitz and, yes, you are right, mo=
st of the Greifs emigrated to Venezuela, where they still live. After the d=
ivorce from my father Julius Hauster, Rahel married to Wilhelm Brecher and =
they moved to Düsseldorf. Their son Daniel Cil Brecher

became a well-known (controversial) historian and author, who lives in Amst=
erdam. I do have evidence that Rahel Greif managed to eliberate my father -=
due to her opportunities to influence - out of the dungeons of the Romania=
n Security Service "Siguranta" in October 1941.
