I live in Romania from 1946, so I can give reliable information on the disputed subject of ”vinete”.
This is the plural form; in singular it is “vanata”. Since diacritics can not be reproduced in plain text, I must explain that on the first “a” there is an circumflex,and on the other two “a” there are breves. As adjective “vanata” means the purple color.
