Dear all

In my view It is irrelevant who was what for whom. What is important for me and I hope for all on this list what was Bandera for us-Jews.
And the answer is that he was a thug and a murderer of jews. Just because they were Jews. No discrimination, men women, children elderly. This is proven beyond any doubt. My parents lived through this. In post-war Bukovina and Galicia we lived through this and witnessed a tail of trials. The last one I personally observed on Czernowitz TV in 1977. An accused Bandera follower testified how, among other his victims, he killed a 10 month old Jewish baby by tying a rope around his neck and hooking it up to a horse. In my opinion
It is immoral for a Jew or Gentile to dignify this thug by even engaging in discussion regarding merits of glorifying Bandera. There can be no rational for it. Ukrainians owe us Jews an apology for genocide they committed to us in 20-th century
Including by Bandera and his followers. How particular Ukraineans and the government if Ukraine handle the legacy of Petlura and Bandera has to determine our relation with specific Ukrainian people and to Ukrainean government.
I do not hesitate to say it to my Ukrainean colleagues and friends.
In Kiev the former Moscow Prospect has been recently named after Bandera and this is disgusting.
We, Jews, can't support this kind of trend. If we stay silent we will help the history tepeat.

Alex
