Czernowitzers...

Dr. Primavera Driessen Gruber, founder and vicepresident of orpheus.news, left the following comment at my posting on "The Ethical Semniar in Czernowitz" from February 2014:

http://hauster.blogspot.de/2014/02/the-ethical-seminar-in-czernowitz.html

"Dear Mr. Hauster, I'm very happy to have found your database on the members of the Ethisches Seminar in Czernowitz, while working on an Austrian biographical handbook of musicians, persecuted by nazisme. Do you have a death year of Norbert Gingold and his wife Hedwig? I would be very grateful to find more information on the other musicians like Berta and Siegi Schatten, Phöbus Chacham and maybe Samuel Reiter. Looking forward to hear from you."

According to the website [http://www.orpheusnews.at/verein.php?&lp=en] orpheus.news "is a non-profit organization in Austria, dedicated to the provision of information on and coordination of activities referring to music and musicians born in Austria or in countries formerly part of the Austro-Hungarian empire, persecuted during nazism."

Czernowitzers, back to you! Do the names mentioned above ring a bell with you?

Edgar Hauster
